Adams began her career as a 7-year-old living in Castle Rock Colorado. At the end of the 1990s, she began performing professionally and dancing with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. Then in Minnesota and at a local theatre she was selected to play a role in a mock film documentary on beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. Following her debut on screen as a ditzy but good-natured contestant she moved towards Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was married to Tony Curtis was her partner from June 1950 until September 1992. She had two children, Kelly Curtis as well as Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh started her career in film following the signing of an MGM deal in the middle of 1940s. She was discovered by actress and model Norma shearer. Through the 1960s, Leigh starred in popular films such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
