Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now OnestiThe name refers to the Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Gheorghi Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 at an Olympic ceremony. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach, when she was just six years old. She first competed in the junior national championships in 1969 where she placed 13th. She was the winner in 1970. She won three golds in her first event at a pre-Olympic junior meet in 1972. It was for communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974she won the junior all-around champion. Her first competitive event as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she topped Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars and to use a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey into the entertainment business started in her teen years when she began performing as a figure skater along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her entertainment career when she was in her teens. She started her career as a model skater with her cousin Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show named Ice Capades. The shows featured skating on ice and included staged performances.
