As I was a mom with one child at my side and other children with me in the cradle worked 12 hours a day grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! The house was getting closer to completing, however it was still a long distance away. To furnish the home would be an enormous undertaking both in both time and funds. I would also have to go out and shop for my most-loved items. For my budget to remain intact, I went with my 3 boys looking for bargains at estate sales. Every week, we spent Thursday to Saturday at garage sales and estate sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. After that, I stenciled and polished the driveway in the week. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I found my love for restoration. Even though our home was equipped, I couldn't quit. There was a spot at the local markets in which I sold my items. Eventually, my collection grew so large that the room I had available was inadequate. The house became a venue in which I held open houses where up 1000 people would be able to view the things on the first floor, and then purchase the items. That's how my company Growing Days was born. Growing Days was not only an extremely successful company, it was also my sweet family. I was balancing the demands of what it was like to start a new business and be a mommy too. Growing Days seemed like the best combination. Nora, my 4th kid was born in the year 2013. My business was going well however I needed a break. I got away from vintage furniture to spend more quality time with my children. This was precisely what I required. However after a few months without a phone, it began to call. I was getting calls from people asking for help with the interior decoration and remodeling. Most of these people were people who had been through my property during furniture open houses! While I was working I began adding clients to my list one by one. However, it didn't take that long before I was managing many clients and operated an extremely successful business of home renovation. If you'd told me that my business would be an idea for the DIY Network show, I would probably have been astonished. It's hilarious to look back to it.
